May . . . the calm before a busy summer. There are flowers to enjoy the grass is green and windows are open allowing fresh air into our winter dens.
A perfect time to kick off the fund-rasing. How much can we find out there this summer? Let’s all dig in and think of a way to add to our building fund. Ready . . . Set . . . GO!!
The Synod Assembly was a great atmosphere for ideas and inspiration. For anyone who has never gone, I highly recommend you do. The amount of information is so much, but I will give you some of my highlights.
- Being part of a weekend that generated $40,968.97 for World Hunger.
- Listening to Trevor Essen, a 18 year old, speak on The Word Working In Us. The insight of such a young person was very inspiring.
- Realizing that a Creation Care team is essential to our church.
- Good adult education is GREAT youth ministry. We all have a part to do for the youth in our congregation.
- Eating supper with The Rev. Dr. Walter May (Executive Assistant to the Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson). It was great to hear his insight and compassion about the ELCA.
- Seeing all the beautiful Quilts and hand made items.
Thanks to my travel companions, you made it a great experience!!
Lord, let my heart be good soil.
