It's finally summer, at least that is what the calendar says. Time for gardening. What better way to go green than by planting a garden. The best vegetables come straight from the garden! Short on space? Many veggies can be grown in containers on your patio. Some of the lettuces are actually quite pretty and could be planted with flowers for a beautiful and edible container. And if you can't plant your own garden, consider buying locally grown products at the farmer's market. If you have excess, share with your neighbors. Maybe you could bring them to church and give them away to whoever wants them. The less a product has to travel to get to your table or home means less carbon consumption used to get it there. Plus, if you purchase from neighbors or from the local market, you are helping the local economy.

Share with your neighbors. Even zucchini is good if you use enough butter or hide it in a cake.
