Paperless

In our ever increasing technology based world, more and more people, corporations, businesses and organizations are going paperless. Do they do it to save the planet? Probably not intentionally. People in the business of making money do it for the money saving efficiencies that a paperless environment supports. No more paying someone to stand at the copy machine running copies. No more paying someone to collate, staple, fold, and distribute by hand all the interoffice mail. No costs for paper, ink and electricity to run the copy machine. No more paying for storage for the volumes of paper files created by the necessity to retain copies of important documents. There are lots of eco-friendly reasons to go paperless, too. Saving the trees. Reduce the amount of trash at the landfill. reduce the electrical need of running a copy machine.

We send over 200 copies of this newsletter via "snail mail" each month. we currently use volunteer hours to create the document, copy, collate, staple, label and deliver to the post office. Our joint council would like to know if there is enough interest in our congregations to consider going paperless. Of course, we would still have a paper copy created for those without internet access. At this point we are just exploring the idea; there are many things to consider.

Can you go paperless?

Praise God by taking care of his creation.
