God wants us to Help others!!

We are happy to have an active Sunday School!!

In March we will be talking about how Jesus dies on the cross and rises from the dead. Last year we made Resurrection Eggs and plan to open them with the kids again this year.

We will be making a donation to the WELCA health kits as a way to focus on helping others.

We are also going to make cards for the friends of Jesse Lake Fruit Baskets and even get to help put a basket together.

Keep your eye on our bulletin board in the Fellowship hall as it will be changing during the month to illustrate how Jesus makes things new again.

We will be making something for our Prayer Partners...what FUN we have had this year with this idea!!

If you know any kids that are looking for some fun from 10 to 11 on Sundays please feel free to join us!! All are welcome!!

Baobab Blast is almost here! All we need to complete this celebration is YOU! Come and enjoy the rhythm of the African savannah, make new friends, and be part of God’s Great Get-Together.

Community is the overarching theme. Everyone is invited . . . friends, neighbors, family . . . any age . . . to get together under the baobab tree and have a BLAST! The good news will be shared and all will have great fun!

Making connections with friends in our neighborhood and friends around the world is a special part of VBS. This year’s mission project connects to Cape Town, South Africa. Africa Jam, a youth empowerment organization, serves over 10,000 young people, strengthening schools and communities. A combination of social upliftment, faith enrichment, arts, and education helps to create a more promising future for kids. Look for crafts that are connected to Africa Jam, talk about kids in other areas and their needs, and support the mission project kids by bringing an offering to VBS.

Dates : Wednesday Nights July 28, August 4, 11, 18, and 25

Time : 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. Plan to stay and participate with your kids as a Family Group, kids should not be dropped off as all activities are created for a group.

What : Supper, and a VBS Worship Service including songs and celebration

Be sure to pick up all of your Baobab Blast “goodies” at the end of each service.

Everyone at Baobab Blast is ready and waiting! Now we just need YOU to join God’s Great Get-Together.

Thanks to everyone who supported our Lemonade & Chocolate stand. With your help the Sunday School kids were able to donate $123 dollars to the building fund. Way to go kids!! And because we purchased our chocolate from Lutheran World Relief we were also able to donate $77.98 directly to the farmers of Kuapa Kokoo so they can build wells, send the kids to school, and many more things to help them find a way out of poverty.

The Sunday School kids will be having a Lemonade & Chocolate stand at Lloyd’s Landscaping in Marcell Sunday, May 16^th from 11 A.M. until 2 P.M.. Divine Chocolate will be available in both Milk & 70% Dark flavors. All proceeds will go to the building fund.

This year VBS is Baobab Blast with daily themes’ Trust, Love, Follow, Care & Share. Each day will include a rotation on Science, Music, Storytelling, Crafts, & Games. It will be the first week of August. ALL kids, including visitors, are encouraged to join us in this fun filled African adventure!

April 11th is the last confirmation class for the year. Eligible students will be confirmed in May. Watch for details to come.

Confirmation students will meet at the Jesse Lake Church for a game if "Jeopardy" at 2 pm. A fabulous prize of a chocolate Easter Bunny will be available to the winner.

For the younger kids, look forward to summer opportunities for Bible camp. Pastor John is looking into options.
